CAMPAIGN ACTIVITIES

Remember the old movie "Hollywoodland"?  I sometimes feel that we're living in PrimaryLand these days.  As long as they're slugging it out, trading insults, and showing their lack of class, that can't be too bad for our side.  It has been said that we're like tea bags; you don't know our strength until we're in hot water.  But I still say that I'd rather be in hot water than in the deep stuff "they're" in.

So Republican Women, it's time to begin our most important work, Getting Out the Vote.  The GOTV Team will travel to various parts of the state, teaching and helping grassroots workers and campaign staffers to implement their best block walking, phone banking, voter ID, targeting, canvassing, etc… as well as how to use Voter Vault, and more.  We have a great time doing it, and the seminars have been very well received.  We have recently booked visits to Kaufman County, Athens, Austin, and are planning on going to the Fort Worth and South Texas areas.  There are still some open dates, so if you would like for us to come to your town or area this summer or fall, please call or email, and we will do our best to make it happen.

Remember, Moses had his cane, but we have email.  And although we're not perfect, our ideals are worth fighting for.  Electing Republicans is a Mighty Cause, and we will rise to the challenge.  Recently, Sean Hannity has been broadcasting some of President Reagan's speeches and they are more awe-inspiring than ever.  Tune in if you can.  And if we're still in doubt as to the critical importance of our votes, think about the Supreme Court.  If the Supreme Court had been tilted any farther to the left, we probably would have had President Gore instead.  Just a suggestion... if you could have your core values articulated in a few talking points, it would be helpful for when you encounter the mindless catch-phrases coming from ordinary people who want "change".  Especially the one about "time to throw all incumbents out, because they're all alike".  We must be able to explain why to not “throw the baby out with the bath water".  Go to the website www.Heritage.org or more inspiration.

Ladies, thank you again for all your work, and remember not to under-report.  Next reporting period ends June 30, please get reports to me by July 10.
